I predict it is going to be about addition.

Read:

Which deal costs less per metre?

A) $1.50 for 15m

B) $5 for 45m

Answer:

A

What’s the BIG Question? :

Which is better value?

What Strategy Will I Use? :

Create a mathematical sum

Solving Procedure:

I added $1.50 until I got 45m and that was 3 times. 3 times $1.50 equals $4.50 for 45m. That makes the answer A because it cost less per metre.

BTN Kids Sleep

B) $3 for 250g

Answer:

BTN Asbestos

3 Recalls

1. Asbestos is fireproof, waterpro0f and strong so in the past people decided that asbestos would be perfect in several building materials 2. Asbestos in the past was used to make water pipes, wall and roof coverings, roof insulation, paint and more 3. When asbestos gets broken apart dust fibres get into the air when breathed deeply the fibres go deep into the lungs and then gets lodged, over time they can cause cancers to start growing there and they are hard stop.

2 Insights

1. I never knew asbestos could be that lethal. It can cause cancer and lead to you dying a very painful death 2. Asbestos is still found in one of three homes which is a lot of homes with asbestos and because how harmful it is, I wouldn’t want to be living in one with asbestos.

1 Question

1. When, why and who invented popcorn

GTAC Reflection

On Monday the 28th of October a group went to the Gene Technology Access Centre(GTAC Website: http://www.gtac.edu.au/)  to explore different types of microscopes and microscopic things, the group was  made mostly of band students and some other students.

What we did at GTAC was we looked at microorganisms and there were a lot in the water, it was amazing. We used compound and stereo microscopes and we learned how to use them. We had to solve a case so we looked at several things found and put them under a microscope. At the end we cracked the case. We did it with our science mentors who taught us a lot for example how to use a compound microscope

The people where great, they were easy to understand and specked load and clear. The science mentors where very nice and helped us when we had trouble and they obviously knew what they were doing.

3 Facts

1. Two types of microscopes are compound and stereo 2. Things change a huge amount when put under a microscope 3. GTAC stands for Gene Technology Access Centre.

2 Understandings

1. There is a whole another world beyond what you can see a world which is beyond what the naked eye can see 2. There is a place called GTAC I never knew that but it’s a real place because I went to it I still don’t know what it fully does though, maybe genes.

1. Question

1. Why did GTAC get built?

GTAC a once in a lifetime experiance!

GTAC is definitely a once in a lifetime experience because it is fun, exiting and engaging. What we did at GTAC was we looked at microorganisms and there where a lot in the water, it was amazing. We used compound and stereo microscopes and we learned how to use them.

GTAC has been amazing and the things I learned I can use for example how to use a microscope and I know this will help me in science in the future years.

GTAC is a once in a lifetime experience because you can’t do it again because you already know it.
